WDKF Wednesday: Safeguarding the Future?

WDKF Wednesday Topper
It’s that day of the week again (doesn’t it come round quick?!) so I’ve posted my weekly article over at We Don’t Know Football, and this week I’m looking at the recent decision to introduce a homegrown quota system to the Premier League and wondering just how much of an impact it will have on football in this country and around Europe.

Even though the current proposed changes are relatively slight, I think that this could be the first step in a major plan to safeguard the future of English football and will tie in with upcoming initiatives from UEFA to improve European football as a whole. If that is the case then the FA and the Premier League deserve a lot of credit for taking steps to ensure that the future of football in England remains in safe hands.
